The companies aren’t ranked in any particular order. The information we’ve gathered comes primarily from reviews and a review of the company's website. We haven’t had any personal experiences with the companies listed here, so we’re not putting them here because we owe them a favor, or because we used their service and enjoyed it. We’re putting them here because of the reviews that they’ve received because of their service to Hillsborough.
You may be wondering why we, a roofing company that serves Hillsborough, is writing about our competition in the area. Well, our mission is to become a source of roofing information for homeowners in the Triangle area, and that by sharing our knowledge and experience with you, you'll feel like you know us long before you need to reach out to us for a roofing service.
A big part of the roofing industry is of course, the companies, so we're going to talk about them! Companies can pay to be ranked highly on some of the more popular national rankings sites, so we took it upon ourselves to make lists of local roofers that you can trust are accurate and unbiased.
Chief Roofing, the only company on this list with its headquarters in Hillsborough, provides roof inspections, replacements and repairs for asphalt shingle and metal roofs to the town of Hillsborough and the surrounding area. Having been in business since 1986, you know that they have the experience to get the job done, and with a 4.8-star Google rating, they have done a great job building up a happy customer base.
Carolina United is a bit of a different company on this list, as it has only existed in its current form since 2018, but the owner of the company has been in the industry since 1987. The company offers free inspections and estimates in the Hillsborough area, and claims that their specialty is in the storm damage restoration of roofing, siding, and gutters.
If you’re looking for a family-run, experienced company that does roofing and other construction work, Cole Roofing & Construction has been doing just that since 1973. Though their headquarters are in Durham, they work all over the area doing residential roof repair, roof replacement, and skylight and gutter replacement services to Hillsborough.
Also founded in 1973, Boxer Roofing has been serving Hillsborough and Durham for years. Boxer prides itself on having affordable prices, and using quality materials for its roof repair and roof replacement services. The company has good standing with the Better Business Bureau, holding an Accredited Membership, and an A+ Rating.
Last but not least, Pickard Roofing has been offering commercial and residential roofing services to the Triangle for over 90 years. With its headquarters in Durham, the company offers roof replacements and repairs, as well as ongoing maintenance and service plans to ensure that roofs are going to last their advertised lifespan.
One of the things we didn’t talk much about in this blog, but always tell homeowners to look for, is a roofing company that is certified by the material manufacturer that they use.
For example, GAF, one of the largest roofing material manufacturers in North America, offers three different tiers of certification to companies that use their products: Authorized, Certified, and Master Elite. CertainTeed on the other hand, has their ShingleMaster, and SELECT ShingleMaster accreditations.
The main differences between the tiers for both companies is the level of experience, and the level of warranty they can offer homeowners. A contractor that has Master Elite or SELECT ShingleMaster status has the full faith and trust of GAF and CertainTeed, respectively.
